Solar power is the generation of electricity from sunlight. This can be direct as with photovoltaics (PV), or indirect as with concentrating solar power (CSP), where the sun's energy is focused to boil water which is then used to provide power. Solar power has the potential to provide over 1,000 times total world energy consumption in 2008, though it provided only 0.02% of the total that year. If it continues to double in use every two to three years, or less, it would become the dominant energy source this century.
Wind power is the conversion of wind energy into a useful form of energy, such as using wind turbines to make electricity, wind mills for mechanical power, wind pumps for pumping water or drainage, or sails to propel ships.
AMATROL-Green Energy Technology One of Amatrol’s newest programs is our Green Energy Technology (GET) program. This learning program starts with many traditional technical disciplines like electric motor control, wiring, rotation machines, hydraulics, mechanical fabrication, print reading, etc. and moves into more specialized skills in wind turbine and solar thermal concepts and installation. Progressive - Renewable Energy
Renewable energy quickly replaces itself and is usually available in a never-ending supply. Renewable energy comes from the natural flow of sunlight, wind, or water around the Earth. With the help of special collectors, we can capture some of this energy and put it to use in our homes and businesses. As long as sunlight, water and wind continue to flow and trees and other plants continue to grow, we have access to a ready of supply of energy. Click on the Header for more information.
